We call this particular method of cleaning ‘Vapour Blasting’ to keep it simple. In reality, your items can undergo up to a 14 point process – which includes hot washing, ultrasonic cleaning and the vapour blasting process itself. This is agreed in advance, with all work discussed with you.
WHAT IS VAPOUR BLASTING?
Our Vapour Blast machine uses compressed air to propel water and an abrasive medium from a nozzle onto a surface. This provides very effective, environmentally friendly, closed loop surface cleaning.The glass bead used in the system is mixed with water to form a slurry and is blasted at the component. The water buffers the particles on impact allowing very fine finishes to be produced without damage to the component.
The vapour blasting process is suitable for aluminium, bronze, magnesium, titanium, brass, copper etc. It will gently clean the surface without damage and leaves a satin finish that is very easy to keep clean. Please be aware that any items that rust cannot be vapour blasted, as they will oxodise instantly.Due to the machinery used to complete this process, we are able to offer this cleaning process ‘in-house’ only. The blasting cabinet is approximately 0.8m high by 1.09m wide, items larger than this would require a different process.
WHY CHOOSE VAPOUR BLASTING?
Vapour blasting, or aqua blasting, is the process for you if you have aluminium engine components that you want cleaned to the highest standard. Vapour blasting peens items leaving them with a satin shine, that really can’t be beaten. This is a particularly great system when cleaning motorbike engine casings, engine blocks, or carburetors – where re-painting or leaving as they are just wouldn’t do the components justice.Aluminium isn’t the only metal that aqua blasting provides a fantastic finish to. Bronze, copper and brass are amongst the suitable materials that are perfect for the vapour blasting process.

Please note that we are unable to vapour blast items that rust. Instead, we offer soda and media blasting alternatives.
Whilst every care is taken to ensure there is no glass bead remaining, we do advise that you rewash all parts again before fitting.
